David-reviews.com LOVED IT
By David P
I recieved this book in exchange for an honest review.
This is one of those books that I have been looking forward to since June of last year. Every so often I would check Jennifer Quintenz's site, hoping that there would be an update on Incubus. It felt like an eternity until I finally managed to get my hands on this book and when I powered up my dusty kindle (it doesn't get much use) and started Incubus I could tell this book was going to be a good read.
The storyline is as solid as it was in the first book. I didn't find myself wondering what was for dinner, or what was on tv while reading Incubus. I was right there with Braedyn trying to figure out who this mysterious, evil Incubus was. What I thought was pretty great was that Jennifer didn't really let us know for a guarantee who the lowlife was. I had around 4 different bets on who it could be from Mr. Hart to helpless Seth. She kept the secret locked up until the end and I'm glad she did.
The enemy in this series had always been Lilitu but what made this different from Thrall was that this time around, the enemy was completely unknown. In Lilitu history, there had only been one other known Incubus and there was very little known about him, which made this guy new uncharted, evil territory. I'm not saying the guys evil was lacking, not at all, in fact he was everywhere messing with Braedyn's head. Almost literally too. He was kind of a creeper in my opinion.
I'd also like to mention that Amber is a total psycho. She was a normal mean girl from the last book that totally went crazy here. If she had done those things to me, I would have destroyed her. She really got under my skin, I was all GRRR! I don't know how Braedyn held herself back for most of it.
Braedyn was one of those characters that I think I would get along with. Head strong and full of purpose. She may not want to be a daughter of Lilith, and she may end up sacrificing her only chance of ever being fully human, but that wont stop her from harnessing her powers to protect those she love, including super sweet Lucas. Her only downfall is that she rushes into action without thinking. She really needs to learn to sit in one place and think things out.
The romance for this book is on the tame side. It's obviously forbidden and for good reason, Lucas would be turned into a Thrall (basically a mindless slave) if they got carried away. I wasn't all disappointed though because the story line made up for the lack of make out sessions.
I loved this book and I'm so happy I finally got to read it after a year of waiting. I recommend the entire series for the fully developed characters, the impressive mythology, and the fight scenes. I wasn't disappointed in the least but I am dreading waiting for the next book.

An exciting, page-turner!
By Karen Bryson
Fans of the New York Times Bestselling series Hush, Hush Saga by Becca Fitzpatrick are sure to enjoy Jennifer Quintenz's The Daughters Of Lilith novels. Incubus is Book Two of the series (Thrall, which is Book One of the series was a #1 Ranked eBook in both the Paranormal & Urban and Coming of Age categories on Amazon.)
Quintenz is a skilled writer, who uses a lot of imagery and symbolism to convey her story and Incubus is an exciting, page-turner that you don't want to miss. The story has a unique blend of paranormal/fantasy and forbidden romance that is quite appealing and I especially enjoyed the mystery of trying to figure out who the incubus was. (I didn't figure it out, by the way!)
Incubus is an engaging story that will appeal to both Young Adults and Adults alike.

Incubus (Daughters of Lilith) by Jennifer Quintenz
By ?wazithinkin
Ms. Quintenz does a fairly good job reminding us where the first book left off but the recaps were brief and my memory is not as sharp as it used to be, so I floundered around a bit. However it didn't take too long to regain my footing.
I just have one small complaint so I will get it out of the way now before I get to the good stuff. This is about a style choice the author made when she chose to use digits instead of writing out numbers. These numbers referred to seconds, minutes, hours, months, years, feet, yards, miles, costumes, and soldiers. Mostly smaller numbers, under a hundred, but there were several. This didn't throw me out of the story, but I hated seeing a sentence starting with a digit. I guess I am just olde school like that.
There is a new evil threat in this book, it seems as though an Incubus, a rare male version of the Lilitu, has found his way to Puerto Escondido. There is very little known about the Incubus, or his powers, and details from the archivists of the Guard are sketchy since their secret library has been destroyed.
Not only is Braedyn trying to deal with typical, and some not so typical, high school drama. She is also trying to deal with not being allowed to know certain Lilitu history and knowledge the Guard has that affect her future. So Braedyn sets out to discover these things on her own. She is a smart girl but being the Guard's secret weapon she has the weight of the world on her shoulders.
There is a lot of action in this book and the well executed battle scenes are epic. I enjoyed Braedyn's dream-scape the most, with Ms. Quintenz descriptive prose it was easy to be pulled into the scene. I like the way Braedyn's and Karayan's relationship is developing, I feel like these two can help each other. Meanwhile several other friendships are tested on many levels as the mystery twists and turns. If you love reading fantasy where characters are trying to find out how they fit in the world they live in, I am sure you will enjoy this story.
FYI: This is the second book in The Daughters of Lilith series. I think it is important to have read the first book Thrall, before reading this one. I think it is worth mentioning here that Thrall won Books and Pals 2014 Readers' Choice Award in the YA category.
