Let’s do Zazen now

I am looking for Zen book to practice it and I got curious when I saw this book title. This book explained to me what Zen is and I read a book about Zen before that I can’t understand what that book explained to me but this book is very understandable. I understand now the Zazen rituals and what the benefits are. I learned the four ways to sit. I know now what are the proper clothing, posture, and the cosmic mudra. The proper breathing is explained fine in this book. Zazen is great and I will practice this for sure.

Useful guide!

I am impressed! I am really interested in zazen meditation and I am thankful that my best friend found this book. This book helped me understand on what zen really is and it guides me on how I can fully understand the zazen rituals. It also guides me on how I can practice zazen properly. This book will explain to us the four traditional seating methods and the basic forms of meditation. The whole content of the book was well written and concise. I highly recommend this book for everyone. Excellent book!

As simple as Zen itself. If anyone is interested in the art of Zazen and looking for a good reminder on HOW to practice this is a good one.

When you do zazen, find a quiet place where you can sit without disturbances. It should be neither too dark nor too bright, warm in the winter and cool in the summer. The sitting place should be neat and clean.

If possible, a statue of Manjushri Bodhisattva should be enshrined in the room. If there is none available, any statue or painting of a Buddha or a Bodhisattva is fine. Also, when possible, place an offering of flowers on the altar and burn incense. Avoid sitting when you haven't had sufficient sleep or when you are physically exhausted. Before sitting, eat moderately and avoid alcohol. Wash your face and feet so that you feel refreshed.

I enjoyed this read and examination of the techniques the author comments on, it is a simple practical guide that's would allow the curious to read.
