Law of Attraction in action!

I loved this book! This is the first of the Sara series - the same as the one numbered "one" published by Hay House. I guess they new publishers decided to start numbering the series when the Hicks changed publishers.

I had heard from others how much adults were enjoying this series written for young readers. I found it very helpful - so see how, on an everyday basis, encountering everyday situations, to put the Law of Attraction and the teachings of Abraham into practice.

Foreverness of Friends of a Feather

I thought this was a great book. The book taught me many thing I can do to be happier and more thankful. In this book, Sara is the main character who likes to be alone. Sara likes to look around and see all the new things that are around her. Sara lives with her Mom, Dad, and her out going brother.

One day Jason and his friend, Billy, found an animal that was bigger than they have ever seen. They come running up to Sara and they wanted her to see this amazing animal. Sara usually is never interested in what they have found, but this time she had this weird feeling about what they had found. Sara agreed to go and see what they had found. Sara felt very curious about this animal. When she saw the animal, she was so amazed! The next day, Sara had a large urge to go back to Thacker's trail, where Jason had found the animal. That day when she had gone back, she saw it again! She was so excited. Before anything else happened, it started talking to her! Through out the book, the animal gives her helpful tips and shows her many ways to be thankful. Sara makes a daily route to the animal, who she has named Solomon. She and Solomon become best friends. Solomon teaches her new things everyday to work on and to be thankful for. She learned so much from Solomon than she has ever learned from anyone.

Then one day, bad news happened. Jason and Billy came running up to Sara to tell her what happened. Come to find out, the news is horrible. Jason and Billy had found Solomon and shot him! Sara was so depressed. She felt a little better after her Dad had cared enough and taken the time to bury Solomon. Sara found out that she and Solomon were mental friends and that their friendship will still continue forever.

This book was very sweet and taught me a lot of things as well, like to be thankful for everything, and everything that happens is for a reason.

A Beatiful & Insightful Book!

I just received my copy of "Foreverness of Friends of a Feather" today, and I already finished reading it... I just could not put this book down!

When I placed my order for this book, I wasn't sure if it would be appropriate for an adult to read, but I must say that I enjoyed it thoroughly, and now believe that it is equally meant for adults as well as children.

The insights included throughout this beautiful story are vitally important, and I believe we would all benefit if more children were exposed to them - and more adults too!

Overall, this is a heart-warming story about a little girl who learns the nature of life, well-being & intention through her best friend - an owl named Solomon. The reader is taken on a journey with Sara & Solomon, learning these important insights in a wonderfully easy-to-understand way.

I give this book 2 thumbs up, and recommend it to everyone! No matter what your age is, you can learn a lot from this beautifully written book.

About the Author
Alexey W. Root was the 1989 U.S. Women’s Chess Champion and is a Woman International Master. She has a Ph.D. in education from UCLA and is the author of five previous books on chess in education. Thinking with Chess: Teaching Children Ages 5-14 is her first book for Mongoose Press.
Dr. Root is a senior lecturer in the School of Interdisciplinary Studies at The University of Texas at Dallas (UT Dallas). From 1999 to 2003, she served as associate director of the UT Dallas Chess Program, home to one of the top college chess teams in the world. Root currently teaches Chess Online courses for college credit via UT Dallas eLearning. She lives in Denton, Texas.

EXCELLENT book for teaching groups of kids chess

I teach middle school, and decided to start a chess club. I used to play quite a bit, and learning chess helps kids at that age in all sorts of ways, so I figured I'd just go for it. I was hesitant to buy this book, because there were no reviews, but I am glad I did, because it is perfect for teaching chess to a group of kids.

The book is broken down into chapters that progress and build on one another. The author, bless her, has included black line masters for some worksheets that are tied into the lesson. Lessons aren't just about pins, forks, pawn development, etc., but about classification, developing board sense, and game theory. She also includes creative games to children how the pieces move so they aren't bored stiff as they gain experience and understanding of chess.

If you want to teach a child, or better a group of children, how to play and get them playing solid games of chess, this is the book for you. Any chess club sponsor will not go wrong with this book, and personally, I think it should be published and sold by the USCF, because it really is that good. Your kids won't know the names of any openings when they're done with this, but they will be more than equipped to take on (and beat) their parents and middle-level casual players.

This book would not be suitable for people who already have a solid grasp of the fundamentals, but there are other books out there for that (and hopefully the author will write a sequel, which I'd buy in a heartbeat).

Excellent Chess Book

Alexey Root has a vast knowledge of chess. In this book she outlines the fundamentals of chess in an easy to read format. If you are starting from square one, this book is a perfect solution to teaching the basics of chess to children in a concise yet comprehensive manner. This book helped us teach chess to a special needs child. I highly recommend this book to anyone considering teaching chess to children.

About the Author
Arto der Haroutunian established his career designing restaurants, clubs and hotels.In 1970 he opened an Armenian restaurant in Manchester with his brother Koko. This developed into a successful chain of restaurants and hotels. It was a natural progression that he should then begin to write on Middle Eastern food. The cookery books combined his love of food with his great interest in the history and culture of the whole region

#1: This book is extremely helpful if you're a hardcore data analyst who needs more business acumen, or a true marketer who needs a better handle on the technical aspects of web analytics.
#2: The section on using web analytics to measure, optimize, and hold accountable your SEO is very strong.
#3: The sections on tracking and optimizing offline marketing (print, billboard, tv, radio, etc.) are a much needed reminder that marketers need to be tracking everything, online or otherwise. And, that Google Analytics can be that "central marketing dashboard" type of tool if set up correctly.

A comprehensive, actionable guide to the analytics world

I found this book to be a great read. The authors make much of the difficult analytics jargon easily digestible, and provide a clear plan to grow your online business. Unlike some of the other titles out there, this book limits the fluff.

In particular, the case studies used were largely relevant to me, and gave a clear sense of how analytics can truly change the game. Bread and butter areas like Adwords and Adsense subject matter carefully drilled down into succinct lessons that anybody can implement. I also appreciated the content on Google trends, a powerful and free tool that seems under-utilized.

The tradeoff with this book's comprehensiveness was ultimately that some of the content wasn't directly relevant to my clothing business, but the authors established a cogent organization to navigate the subject matter.

All in all, this book became my bible on analytics, and I expect to continue to reference it as I optimize my site and ultimately conversions.

Given the singular focus on Google Analytics, the authors have structured a superior book to either of those from Avinash Kaushik (`Web Analytics 2.0: The Art of Online Accountability and Science of Customer Centricity', and `Web Analytics: An Hour a Day'). I would recommend this book, both for the Google Analytics user as well as for those using other tools. I anticipate this proving a valuable reference as I experiment more. There remains room to further develop the analysis of offline marketing and sales when in unison with online endeavors.

Beware of the wolf in sheep's clothing and DO NOT BUY this book...

Admittedly, I have typed and deleted my review of this book a couple times now because it's been hard to find the words to express how greatly disappointed I am with not only the book but the author, and the members of the Michael Jackson fan community who support this book of lies, fantasies, and deception.

Let me first say that I read the entire book, cover to cover. I read the prologue online a couple months ago and although I was displeased with what I read then, I was hopeful that after reading the whole book, I would get not only a better understanding of Michael and Shana's "relationship," but a better sense of her intentions for writing the book.

Well, after reading, I was able to get a better understanding of Michael and Shana's relationship. There was none. Shana worked for Michael's manager and the only reason he spoke with her consistently during her time there was because she was the receptionist. It was her job to speak to the many celebrities who called in.

Yes, Shana and Michael may have exchanged pleasantries over the office phone (not her home phone, mind you). Yes, Michael politely spoke to and possibly flirted with her when he came into the office. Yes, he put her in two of his short films, Is It Scary and Ghosts. [Please note that she asked him to be in the former. Please also note that she had a very forgettable, non-speaking role in both]. But do these occurrences equate to a relationship, or a "romance" as Shana so eloquently writes in the title? Ask yourself that question and be honest.

The most time Shana Mangatal ever spent with Michael Jackson was during her time as an extra on the set of the aforementioned short films. This fact was apparent early on while reading the book, and it became even more apparent as my reading continued.

For those of you who have actually read the book, please ask yourself why Michael decided to distance himself from Shana. According to the book, her and Michael were intimate during the summer of 1996. After that, the only other time she had contact with him was if it were through an associate/friend or through a chance encounter. She claims to have been invited by Michael to one of his concerts during the HIStory tour and to Neverland, but she never saw or spoke to him during either of these occurrences. In fact, he avoided her. She admits to fishing for information about Michael from his friends and acquaintances. She retrieved information about Michael's personal life from those around him, not from the man himself. She essentially stalked him for years, believing she had a chance even though he got married TWICE and had THREE kids with women other than her. There was no romance between these two. The only person hopelessly in love here was Shana.

But aside from her misrepresenting her "relationship" with Michael, what upsets me the most is her tone on several controversial issues. Her disapproval of his closeness to children, especially "young boys" as she loves to note, is discussed in the book on more than one occasion. She speaks on the vitiligo, the surgeries, his addiction to pain killers, etc.--all spoken about with such a tone that would be overlooked by naive fans, but would allow the media to take her words and manipulate them in an attempt to vilify Michael.

DO NOT BUY THIS BOOK, PLEASE. I understand that after Michael's passing, many fans want to live vicariously through those who were blessed to have been around the man we love so dearly, especially those who claim to have had a personal relationship with him. But please, do not be fooled by those who misrepresent how close they were to him. Remember that any time the name "Michael Jackson" is thrown into the equation, someone is more than likely trying to profit from that association. I didn't believe it initially, but I now believe Shana's intent was to capitalize from her supposed association with Michael. If not, she could have kept her "stories" about Michael online as she has done for years. She could have even offered to donate some of the proceeds from her book sales to Michael's favorite charity. That is the least she could do after breaking her promise to never speak on their affairs.

Do not forget that Michael was a very private person and would not want this type of book to be released. Shana states several times in her book that Michael asked her to keep any private moments they shared to herself. So why is she now coming out with this tell-all book, after he specifically asked her to NEVER share those moments with anyone? Shana's excuse is that she wants everyone to know what kind of man Michael really was, but most of what she wrote has been recycled from other books, interviews, online forums, fan fics, etc. I had an overwhelming sense of déjà vu as I meticulously read each page. Most of what she wrote has been said before by other people in Michael's life, so do not be fooled into thinking that she is saying anything new.

Before you attack those who are questioning Shana's motives, please stop and ask yourself why YOU are so adamant about defending her. We would not even know the name Shana Mangatal had it not been for Michael Jackson. Why are you so quick to defend her over him? Why are some fans so quick to latch themselves on to anyone who claims to have been associated with Michael? I understand that he is no longer with us and some want to live vicariously through others who were around Michael, but please remember that this man had a number of people around him and the vast majority of them did not have good intentions.

For those of you who are curious about the "juicy" details (and I use that term very loosely because there was nothing juicy about this book), please save yourself a few dollars and do a quick Google search for the excerpts you are looking for. The passages you are looking for are out there, and they are free of cost. Please keep your receipt if you have already bought the book, and make use of your store's return policy. Even e-books can be returned.
As a community, we must stop lining the pockets of those who are trying to profit from being associated with Michael--especially those, such as Shana, who promote their fan fics under the guise of having written a positive book about him.

Save your money or buy Michael's 1988 autobiography, Moonwalk, instead.

Title should've been Thin Line Between Love and hate

... Stab the daggers in his casket further will ya. All of these 5 star reviews must be friends and family. Otherwise anyone who read this book saw clear as day, all the deception and revengeful hate. Low key sarcasm. Lift him up to tear hom DOWN....written Like a real life'- martin Lawrence movie "thin line between love and hate. " that's exactly the energy i picked up. Stalkerish while killing him softly because you couldn't get a clue. Janet's LOOK should have been a clue.

One of the worst MJ books I've ever read. Super repetitive. This book does prove the psychological issues that MJ had as far as relationships with adults. Not worth the time or money.

Loved it

This historical romance is a wonderful, gripping read. Nell is a powerful character for the time period she lives in, and her journey in this complex, unforgiving world is hard to put down! Highly recommended.
