Review
It's easy to say "Go talk to your users to find out what they want". It's much more difficult to understand how to do this effectively. Tomer does a brilliant job of explaining how to do this, along with giving the reader a clear methodology and substantive examples. --Brad Feld, managing director, Foundry Group
For my money, there's no one who knows more about conducting user research or who s better at explaining how to do it in truly lean fashion than Tomer Sharon. My advice? If you care about getting your product right, buy this book. (It's worth it for the chapter on recruiting participants via social media alone.) --Steve Krug, author of Don't Make Me Think
Validating Product Ideas Through Lean User Research by Tomer Sharon contains new methods for understanding customers, gathering hidden insights, and ultimately building amazing products. If you're a novice, this book will give you the tools to leapfrog your competition. If you're savvy, this book will catch you by surprise with techniques you should have been using years ago. Overall, I haven't been this excited about a Lean book in years. --Trevor Owens, entrepreneur, founder, and CEO at Javelin, author of The Lean Enterprise

Ask the right questions and better articulate why they are important
By Rae
All too often with projects I join UX has been an afterthought and, directly as a result, things are not moving forward and there's no clear strategy/vision. Earlier this year someone told me the following: "We haven't had a UX person on this yet because we wanted to keep it simple". I think about these words a lot and this book, to me, speaks directly to why this type of (unfortunately common) thinking makes no sense and how to integrate UX correctly from the start.
It's organized in such a way that promotes the reader to absorb the information in select bits as needed over requiring cover to cover consumption and that just so happens to be my favorite way to read design books. I need to be able to get information as it's relevant to me, otherwise it's impossible to retain. I also adore that each proposed stakeholder question is followed by a "Why Is This Question Important?" section to really drive the point home but also better prepare you for inevitable client pushback.
So much of the job is asking the right questions and this book speaks directly to what questions to ask and why, as well as what to do with the answers.
